Job Description

With established relationships with councils throughout the South Island and a thorough knowledge of the legislative requirements, our planning team offer creative and innovative solutions to our clients. 

The specialist planning expertise within Eliot Sinclair covers the entire planning spectrum - from private plan changes and large land development projects, to providing resource management planning advice for site specific issues in residential, commercial, industrial and rural areas.

Our experienced planners are extremely versatile and work closely within our wider multidisciplinary team of urban designers, engineers, surveyors and GIS specialists to advise on various sized  land development projects including medium and high-density development, earthworks, engineering and associated environmental matters with engagement with both District and Regional Councils. Our variety of resource management work provides interesting and challenging opportunities for our team with career development opportunities.

Our planners contribute to District, Regional and National Strategic document reviews, making submissions which provide excellent service and technical expertise to our customers and clients whilst contributing to the wider planning profession.

 

Desired Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in planning, resource management or related discipline
  • At least three years of relevant New Zealand experience and working towards, or already holding, full membership of the NZPI 
  • Good knowledge and experience with relevant legislation
  • Excellent communication, presentation and report writing skills
  • District and Regional consenting experience with an ability to grow and learn.
  • A sense of fun and a sense of humour!
